Mega agency, Wellington-based Clemenger BBDO took home New Zealand's supreme award for advertising last night. No, no the Fair Go Award - the Grande Axis. The winning commercial is for the LTSA, targeted at stoners who drive. A car load of Maori kids riff on what it's like when their dads drive after a spliff. The commercial is brilliantly scripted, cast and directed/shot. It has a million plus views on YouTube, so it has the conversation going. The Devil's Chair was another big winner on the night. Craft is strong in the country at the moment - this commercial shared a grande award with 'Blazing'. A win for Draft FCB - who have been rampant recently (though I have to admit, I've seen this ad many times on TV and can never remember what it is for - not a high interest category for me maybe).
A full rundown of the night is here on the Stoppress site.
